Título Beyond the qualitative approach: A review of the integration between quantitative techniques and the Functional Resonance Analysis Method
Tipo Artigo em Conferência
Abstract Over the past two decades, studies have highlighted the benefits of the Functional Resonance Analysis Method for analyzing complex systems. Recent advancements include the integration with quantitative techniques, which enhance its analytical capabilities. This review identifies and discusses the main quantitative methods and techniques combined with FRAM to improve its ability to analyze models and support decision-making. The models developed with FRAM and these quantitative techniques are designed to assess various factors, including risks and resilience, and pinpoint critical functions and couplings within the system. Among traditional techniques, Monte Carlo Simulation, Bayesian Networks, and Fuzzy Set Theory are the most employed. Many publications propose custom metrics and equations to assess model behavior. Overall, results show that these models not only aid in evaluating complex interactions but also facilitate the identification of critical aspects that can influence overall performance and stability. By leveraging these methodologies, researchers can support better decision-making and management strategies
